Created to keep the community of Ola up to date on the happenings in the area.
I know several people that need repairs on their homes, but would not have the nerve to ask the community for help.
The Ola Inn is a community fixture. Without these needed repairs, it will not be able to continue operating. This isn't about nerve, it's about keeping a valued community resource open for all to enjoy. This event was planned by people other than the owner or current operators - they didn't ask anyone for help, as you wrongly assumed. It was started by civic minded people trying to help other people. Can you say that about yourself?
This community means everything to us. And if you’re going to sit there and rudely contradict, what is good, and what is not good. Please do not have the gall to show up to this event. We have other members from this community that will. I can also guarantee that, who ever it was that helped on this event, I am very thankful for them. This place can keep it self running for many more generations to come, just like it has for the last 50-60 years. It’s civic minded people like the ones that planned this thing, that keep the world going around.
Well, I don't mind people knowing it's me talking here...I'm glad for this event. The Ola Inn is like the heart of this community. We have the school, we have the church, we have the Inn...our little town isn't like bigger places with a lot of choices...but you know, our Inn, our school, our church are filled with good folks...just like the folks who came out to support the Ola Rough Striders just a short time ago. That money will go to a good cause, fighting cancer...but re-roofing the Ola Inn is a good cause too, one I'm happy to help out with, even if I can't be there in person. Our town wouldn't be the same without the Inn!
This fundraiser is so needed and just shows that Ola is a place where people stick together and help where needed. We sure could use less over opinionated and judgemental people and more folks who care. Hey but if your perfect without any faults go ahead keep throwing stones. Thanks Dora your remarks were well received and appreciated, I'm sure.
well guess what my house needs alot of help also ,but when my family lost our house to a fire ola was there to support us like no other community would. If I would have lived anywhere else I would have never been able to start again.I never asked the community for help but guess what they came with open arms the same day I lost everything to fire, that evening I had alot of donations such as cloths, money, household things etc.(only in ola)We have a nice newly remodeled Hall,Church ect,how do you think we got that.Ola steps up and helps.so whoever is the one who made that commentI hope you will rethink what you said.also to put it straight John&Tracy never asked for the fundraiser to happen,we had a person in the community that said guess what I am going to do for you,and it snowballed from their. That is called COMMUNITY SUPPORT!!!That is why I love Ola and That is why I moved back to Ola to stay. Thank You! Katrina
